Prenatal Classes.
How do the flexible passes work?
With the flexible passes, you select the class and dates you attend. We ask that you choose your dates at the time of booking to reserve your spot. If your dates require changing at any point – just chat with Deb – deb@fitnessbythelake.com and we will make the change :-). If something comes up and you are unable to make the class you signed up for, not a problem. You will not loose your pass. We will work with you to slot you into to another week. Our you’re welcome to save the credit for Mom & Baby classes :-).
What happens if miss a class?
We understand that sometimes class just isn’t in the cards. We pride ourselves are creating a stress free and flexible environment. Our one of a kind class passes do not have restrictions or limitations. No expiry date and no punishment for missing a class. Your pass simply goes back into your package to use for another class.
What type of exercises do you do in the Fitness Classes?
Our fitness classes are low impact cardio. Running on the spot, high knees, safe pregnancy burpees are all used to help keep your body warm and endorphin’s flowing. You’ll find yourself performing squats, lunges, standing and sitting core work, upper body exercises and modified push-ups. Everything we do is for your prenatal body. Modifications are always offered as we will have all stages of pregnancies participating. All designed to keep your body strong.
When can I start these classes?
We recommend that all expecting mommies consult with their doctor/ob/midwife prior to starting any physical activity. Unless you’ve specifically been told not to exercise or do yoga, you should be good to go when you’re feeling ready. We’ve had ladies join us 6-8 weeks and 30 + weeks.
Can I join at anytime?
Our classes are currently running in a block of sessions – meaning you pre register for you spot. This is to monitor capacity limits and ensure social distancing. If our website is not updated with upcoming session / classes – please do not hesitate to email deb at deb@fitnessbythelake.com to inquire about the next set of classes.
What if my baby comes early or I have passes remaining in my package?
No pregnancy is predictable! We are happy to convert your prenatal passes in to mom & baby passes! When you’re feeling good and have been cleared to begin regular exercise and yoga, contact deb at deb@fitnessbythelake.com and we will convert your passes for you!
I’ve never done yoga before, can I still do the prenatal classes?
Absolutely! Our yoga classes are specifically designed to relieve stress and pregnancy related aches and pains. No yoga experience required. We’ll guide you through and provide modifications for all stages of pregnancy.
Winter classes and cancellations
Weather can be unpredictable and we will always err on the side of caution. Whether you’re expecting or have a new little one, we want to ensure your safety is a priority. For winter classes, our rule of thumb is: If school busses are cancelled, there will be a possibility morning classes will be cancelled. Even if your class is scheduled for later in the morning – we want to ensure the side walks, parking and driving is safe. For evening classes – we will check road safety first and foremost. Of course, the decision is always yours. If you’re uncomfortable travelling, simply apply your pass to another class. You will be notified via email as early as possible as well, announcements on our Facebook and Instagram pages will be posted.
What happens if the class instructor is ill?
It will happen. Your instructor or their kids may fall ill. We will always make an attempt to cover the class. However, in the event that we can not, you will be notified of the cancellation as early as possible. If email is not a great way to contact you, we update our Facebook and Instagram with the same announcements.
